Measure the awkward part

Start with the narrowest section of the gate, the tightest turn and the space where you need to open the doors. Note any slope or obstruction that changes the usable space. For an apartment or shared car park, check the route in and out while nearby spaces are occupied.

Send the constraints with the brief

Include the measurements and tell the sourcing team what you measured. Ask for dimensions for the specific body style and check whether the quoted width includes mirrors. If the margins are tight, arrange a real fit check with a comparable car where possible.
